This video precursor to the 1993 The Incredible
Discovery of Noah's Ark (see
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/ark-hoax/jammal.html
for an exposé) is a pseudodocumentary with three parts. The first looks at the Biblical
story of Noah and his ark. The second recounts the many expeditions to find the ark on Mt.
Arrarat in Turkey. The third looks at the "scientific" evidence for the ark. The
style of production is old and stilted, but the argumentation style is classic
pseudoscience put to the service of religious proof.
Why is the Noah's Ark story so powerful? How widely distributed is the story among world cultures? What does the video claim about this? What are the gaps or problems with this claim?
What forms of argumentation are obvious in the video?
What role have hoaxes played in the Noah's ark story? How are these treated in the video?
How does the evidence and its presentation here compare with the appraches of Von Daniken and others?
Why is science used in the ways it is in this video?
